Life is good

Life is settling into a nice, maintainable routine.I say maintainable, but lord help me, if much more gets added to our plate I will flip out and will need medication. Like when K is gone for a week the end of next month. Ask me how maintainable life is that week.

But for now we're trucking along. Our fall sports pick up in a few weeks, that's always fun. Tennis for momma, soccer for the boys. Dada gets to be assistant coach for soccer, but no tennis for him this season. I trust that will give him plenty of energy to bring me water at the court and to give me massages after each match. Hahahahahaha....

Anywho, we've had a busy time, some fun, some work.

This one night was definitely some fun. We left this gaggle of kids at home, and with our favorite cousins walked to our neighborhood park for a concert. Ahhh, good times. That was a fun night!
We've settled into school routines, had visitors, are doing some small projects around the house. Life is good, y'all. Nothing spectacular, but just good.

First Day of K

It's official. We are uniform-wearing Kindergarteners!

Based on the jolly banter I've heard for the last three hours since we've been home I'd say the first day report was good. Each boy is in a different class, and we think this will be a good thing for both. Both like their teachers, they know some kids in each of their classes, they played nicely with all their friends, and enjoyed their new after-school care program. That makes this mom very relieved and ready to settle into the year's routine.

Obi

After much deliberation we decided we were ready for a new dog. We entertained contacting a breeder for a Papillion, but my heart lies with rescue dogs, so I searched to see what was available in the local area. I found Fluffy, a long haired weenie dog, Turbo a Papillion mix, Daisy a Pom mix, and 1000 other dogs I'd take home in a heartbeat. But then late one night I saw this little guy and I knew he was the one. I'm a decisive person. I know what I want when I see it. If I'm not sure about something, then I know it's not for me. I knew when I saw Keith, I knew when we entered both our homes and I knew with this little one.

He's young, playful and just sweet. And he doesn't seem to know that he is missing an eye and has a crooked leg from some a traumatic incident when he was a puppy.
