Happy Birthday, Bandito Evan!

The third bandito turned one! That's right, Wee Dude Evan turned the big one this past week! Mom Angela and Dad Ken threw him a great party, which we were happy to attend. We may have been a little cranky at the beginning, but isn't there a song that says "It's my cousin's party, and I'll cry if I want to"?

No? Hmmmm, anyways, we had a great time. Happy birthday Evan!!

PS. When we come to visit, you better check the diaper bag when we leave, 'cause we're SO stealing the Pick Me Up Elmo back. With Grady's stiff-arm, and Cole's speed, there's no way you can stop us from leaving with it.

PPS. Mom says it's wrong to steal. You can keep Elmo.

PPPS. Dad said "whatever", and something about a finder being a keeper, so watch your back, Elmo.

PICTURES ARE ONLINE: www.babiessquared.shutterfly.com. View them now or be patient and wait for me to post comments and picture titles on Wednesday. Yes, I know you're just gonna go view them now. Go on, already.

UPDATE: More pictures to be uploaded tomorrow. The computer is not cooperating, and I've had one glass of wine too many to be patient with it.

Where else would a naked baby want to play?

Amy's Getting Married!

Our dear friends Amy & Matt are in the less-than-100 days countdown to their wedding, and this past weekend we were lucky enough to be able to host a bridal shower for Ames. Special thanks to Matt and Keith for entertaining the babies so us ladyfolk could have a testosterone-free zone for a few hours. Here is the happy couple holding some cute babies. Overalls! Updated with pictures.

A few more new pictures of the boys at www.babiessquared.shutterfly.com ! Click on the "March" album.
What says warm weather has arrived better than bare feet?
Cole making his own Dasani water commercial.

Grady says ROAR, I'm a dinosaur!

So, in some sick twist I am sitting here at the computer eagerly awaiting the boys' awakening from their naps. I know, I said it was a sick twist! Why the excitement? Well, today is a nice spring day and I am putting them in the cutest springy overalls that Nana got them for their birthday. I LOVE overalls, love, love, love them, and can't wait to see the smooshie babies playing around in them. I'll be taking a thousand pictures of them*, so check back later for some eye candy.

*Number of pictures depends on how quickly they get snot all over the overalls, they're still pretty sick, but thankfully no more 102 fevers. I better go knock on wood.

Sick babies & Other Fun Topics

This week started with the boys getting sick, so my hopes of posting picture filled blogwittiness have been postponed a bit. The pestulence set in with Cole first, then Grady. It's not been fun, but I guess that's just a given when kids get sick. On the positive note, I've had a great arm workout from holding Mr. 23lbs and Mr. Almost 27lbs all week. And, I've lost short term hearing in one ear from the constant nnnh-nnnh-nhhhhnnn whiny cry Cole's done all week. He's usually a fairly quiet kid, but saves the whiny cry for these special occasions. Grady is the opposite, usually loud as hell, but quiet when sick. Funny how different they are.

In other news, we're all sorts of active and mobile. We've got a few new words-"hi", "bye-BYE" )said by Grady in a high-pitched Southern accent, I think he's imitating/mocking me), and something that sounds a little like "woomph", which is used when Madam or Elvis walk by. I think it means "Woof" 'cause that all the dogs ever say to them. Grady has added a true all fours crawl to his motorizing around repertoire, and both are walking along objects and with those walk-behind toys. All fun! They're also trying to stand up without holding onto anything, which you'd think I'd be excited about, but it's really a bit disturbing. They halfway stand up, and then allow themselves to fall, and then they laugh hysterically about it. Hit their head on the sofa on their way down? Laugh. Smack poor Madam in the side falling down? Laugh. Headbutt Mum-mum when toppling over? Laugh hysterically. I know I'm supposed to view this as a move towards walking, but all I can think of while they laugh at getting hurt is the potentially bonebreaking or concussion causing stunts they're going to get into in the years to come. Mum-mum is rather squeamish & is not looking forward to any of that, so please plan your crazy stunts when Dada is home, K?

Work is Fun!

Keith and the boys joined me at a reception at my work, and the photographer got a great picture of the 4 of us! I'm looking a little rough, but hey, it's after a long day of work.
