Laying Low
We are spending a few mellow days here lately. It's been a rough few days of sad news that has dampened spirits and making us wish for a little escape.
Sometimes sadness spurs me to be productive, so my proyets are moving along. The dresser's doors got a little color splash on the insides. It's a light blue. Looks white now, but it'll dry darker into a blue. The rest of the dresser is done and will get a coat of poly or two early next week.
While I had paint on my hands I started another quick project. This was a wall hanging turned top of a table. And it was red. We're over our red phase (for now) so spring green it is. This one should be done by tonight. She's cute, no? Momma is racing to finish all her projects before heading back to work next Friday!
Oh my. This sweet boy. He is not doing well, and will likely be reunited with Madam Fannie in doggie heaven later today. My heart aches.
So back to work on proyets for me. And maybe some laundry. And then we're replanting some plants.
But first I have to pry someone from the guest bedroom where he is "having a little alone time" while watching a show. Which he is really interesting. Really, really .
Tootles.

Today
While in Florida a few weeks ago we saw Despicable Me 2, and then I saw something fun on Pinterest, and bam! here is our breakfast from this morning. Cute and tasty little minions. The bodies are supposed to be yellow, but the boys were ok with a little nutella instead.
Yesterday we aimed for weenie dogs, but breakfast looked more like mice....delicious egg stuffed mice. Clearly I need to go back to work soon.
Now we're having a little quiet time with our leappads this morning. Don't be impressed, this is after world war three erupted over something as silly as "he shot my tanks" while playing with their army men.

Here someone is hiding under the covers for "a little alone time".
I also subjected them to playtime in the basement so I could work on my proyets some more. Two coats of primer and four coats of paint I think we are done. Now a few days of curing and poly, and we're all set. Oh, and I have to paint the inside of the doors a contrasting color and get new hardware.
Here is my audience after a fierce scooter race. The victor is holding up his "trophy".
Now, off to the pool with this lot.

Tennis camp underway.
Team Ellerman is going to a tennis camp a few hours each day, while mommy "exercises so she doesn't get slat". Ever the sceptic, I wasn't sure how much they would absorb in so little time, but this morning they showed me some skills.

Pro-yets.
Right now I am working on a few proyets of my own. I am cleaning, wood puttying, sanding and priming. And soon, I will be painting.
The company I had during my work today. G us singing, C is trying to ignore him.
If it wasn't moving and was nearby, it got primed today.
I was also busy with kitchen proyets. A little key lime pie.
And chicken parmigiana. My rendition of an Italian chef announcing the chicken parmigiana being ready nearly got astanding ovation in the kitchen. Tomorrow night we grill pork chops and ocra. Suppose I need to work on my southern accent for that.

Halfway through Summer
Holy crap. How did we get halfway through summer?
Little bit of what happened around here the last month. We painted rocks to decorate my girl Fannie's grave site. She is buried behind the house in a nice little circle of trees. I think she'd be very happy with her final resting place, and the colorful stones that are on it.
Dada spied this puzzle on our Boston trip. We do love ourselves some puzzleds. I have to tell that I think all couples should be forced to complete a puzzle together as part of pre-marriage counseling. Nothing is more revealing or frankly as annoying as someone you think you know going all crazy with their puzzling technique. Its good to know what type of crazy you are going to be stuck with for life, ya know? I love him, despite his need to constantly look at the puzzle box's cover to find pieces that match. Just look at the shape and colors on the individual puzzle pieces, dude!
And this view, can you beat that? The answer is no, especially when you have a wine spritzer in your hand.
And doesnt GG love having a wet little dude in her lap?
At the beach you get to have as many Capri Suns as you want, with mom being all worried about you being hydrated and such. Its a juice and Capri Sun free for all!
Dada gets to take his mini-me out to charge the waves.
Team Ellerman gets to play.
And Grampie catches some winks. And K and I sit and do nothing while GG helps the boys jump waves in the background.
Can't wait to get there!

It was also Fathers Day in there somewhere. We gave Dada his gifts a little early.

Now I must sign off because I have some car packing to do. We are hitting the road to see GG and Grampie at the beach! We were just there a few weeks ago, here are a few pics from that visit. We cant wait to sit with our feet in buckets.
Listen to some tunes on the beach, and its always good to see this guy in relaxation mode. And this view, can you beat that? The answer is no, especially when you have a wine spritzer in your hand.

Sorry!
We are prepping for a return trip to Florida, and playing some games in between all the work. We are busy baking goodies to take with us. Nom.
And while those baked we learned how to play Sorry! Guess who won?
