This week started with the boys getting sick, so my hopes of posting picture filled blogwittiness have been postponed a bit. The pestulence set in with Cole first, then Grady. It's not been fun, but I guess that's just a given when kids get sick. On the positive note, I've had a great arm workout from holding Mr. 23lbs and Mr. Almost 27lbs all week. And, I've lost short term hearing in one ear from the constant nnnh-nnnh-nhhhhnnn whiny cry Cole's done all week. He's usually a fairly quiet kid, but saves the whiny cry for these special occasions. Grady is the opposite, usually loud as hell, but quiet when sick. Funny how different they are.
In other news, we're all sorts of active and mobile. We've got a few new words-"hi", "bye-BYE" )said by Grady in a high-pitched Southern accent, I think he's imitating/mocking me), and something that sounds a little like "woomph", which is used when Madam or Elvis walk by. I think it means "Woof" 'cause that all the dogs ever say to them. Grady has added a true all fours crawl to his motorizing around repertoire, and both are walking along objects and with those walk-behind toys. All fun! They're also trying to stand up without holding onto anything, which you'd think I'd be excited about, but it's really a bit disturbing. They halfway stand up, and then allow themselves to fall, and then they laugh hysterically about it. Hit their head on the sofa on their way down? Laugh. Smack poor Madam in the side falling down? Laugh. Headbutt Mum-mum when toppling over? Laugh hysterically. I know I'm supposed to view this as a move towards walking, but all I can think of while they laugh at getting hurt is the potentially bonebreaking or concussion causing stunts they're going to get into in the years to come. Mum-mum is rather squeamish & is not looking forward to any of that, so please plan your crazy stunts when Dada is home, K?
