Boys Birthday Trip: Day Before

Hello, my lovelies. Greetings from afar, where we are celebrating the impending 4th birthday of Team Ellerman. We're having a mostly good time, with some serious almost-4 yr old attitude intermixed in our good times. But let's focus on the positive, right? Right.

So, the day before our trip, we surprised the boys with their birthday presents early. But before the presents, a little song and candle blowing. I am making big cakes for the party next week, so I was too lazy to do a cake on this day. In a pinch a Rice Crispie treat, store-bought, will do. Do you notice that the flames are actually different colors? Yeah, the boys didn't either. But I did. The beauty is in the details, and someday they will notice these things. Or I'll keep pointing them out. Whatever. These are the candles I used.

And I channeled some BellyMomma and put up streamers and balloons. That woman loves her some streamers on a kid's birthday.
Shortly after the boys arrived and we blew out candles.
And we sang Atta Bir'tay twice, once for each kid. They liked it.
And then we explained, or tried to explain, why they are getting presents early. I don't know if they understood completely, but they were not arguing with getting presents.
Naturally the balloons were the biggest hit. We had to remind them to open presents.

And their presents were these really cool roll-along luggage pieces. Or SUITCASES, as I'm told to call them. Red for G, Orange for C. They LOOOOVE these.
In the suitcases was a little airplane for each and we told them that tomorrow we're going on a real airplane! SWOOOSH!

They were "sooo becited!"
