The Lake and Its People

I've not done anything with those circles I cut. Where's my motivation, people? I did, however, make and eat much of a 7 layer dip yesterday. A dip I craved thanks to Hancock. My hips and thighs curse you, woman.

See, she made the dip last weekend when she and Private School invited us to their family lake house. See how BabyGirl is reaching for me?

Hmm. Lots of resting at the lake, and a jog, and hanging out and chatting. Good times. And fire, or if you're from North Georgia, it's faahhrr.
When you have a fire, s'mores you must make. Look at C staring at me in the back of the pic.
Where there's faaahhr, K will be closeby, micromanaging the hell out of it.
So maybe we had a little wine before 5pm. What of it? BabyGirl was so disgusted she had to look away.
She was probably just mad she didn't get offered some of this goodness.

Awww, and my original baby girl was there, MF. Such a sweet old bitty. Everyone appreciates you not peeing in their family lakehouse, MF. You may even get invited back.
BigBoy A is so. very. big. I did not get a single shoulder hug, but he did say the funniest thing I hear all weekend. I'd tell you, but you really had to be there.
Theses boys love throwing things.

Oh the sunset! The pictures don't do it justice.
And everyone's favorite time, when we put the kids to bed. Turns out we're the only parents who sometimes make up stories to get through a long book. Hmm.
SOME people read the entire long, long book.
Hancock made a comment that it can be so easy on blogs to make life glamorous. And its so true. A while back I reread my posts on our trip to Chicago and I remember thinking, hmmmm....was it more fun than I remember? or has the general sense of fatigue just worn off and I'm forgetting how exhausting it was? 'Cause my blog entry sure makes it seems fun. So while you might think the kids sat around like this all day:
The reality is that there were plenty of these moments:
PLENTY. And that's just life. It's hard when the rest of us just don't cooperate with G's plans, you know? So we move on and try to find the funny and interesting in the mundane. Like how manly K looks walking Madam FannieRoo below. As a sidenote, we watched The Fox and the Hound for family movie night last night, and the foxes made me think of MF. Look here.
Let it be known that BigBoy A is very smart and managed to get someone to carry him most of the walk. Make them work for you, Big Boy.
He did hold my hand and walk up the hill.
Where people were waiting patiently. Except G and Elvis, they were all "come on, people!"
Look at the camera, BabyGirl!
LOVE this pic.
And I love that the boys can walk the dogs now. Whoo! Hands free for me!
This guy needed a turn atop.
Great weekend with great friends. So good that G cried when we left, saying he "he just loves the lake and its people". And he keeps talking about going back to "A's house".

In a totally unrelated sidenote, I love this bubblebath. And have been taking many a bath just to enjoy it. Or to escape doing housework. Whatevs.
